Nature of the Site

Hertford County Released Inmates is an independent reference. It stores no official inmate, release, jail, or court record. We cannot confirm present custody, release anyone, file a document, change an agency record, or act as a private investigator. Pages point readers toward public offices and optional outside research tools.

Acceptable Use

A visitor agrees to use the site lawfully and responsibly. In particular, a visitor must not:

• break a law while accessing or using the site;
• use information to stalk, threaten, harass, or harm another person;
• make any hiring, housing, lending, insurance, or other regulated eligibility decision from site content;
• seek unauthorized access to the site or another system;
• run automated bots, scrapers, or bulk collection tools without written permission; or
• disrupt access for other visitors.

No Consumer Reports

Hertford County Released Inmates is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. It provides no background check, credit report, consumer report, or screening service, and neither do its advertising partners through this site. Information may not be used for hiring or firing, tenant or housing selection, creditworthiness, insurance pricing, licensing, permits, government-program eligibility, or any other FCRA-covered purpose.

Links may lead to the Hertford County Sheriff, the Hertford County court system, North Carolina corrections, federal locators, legal resources, or third-party search services. A link is not an endorsement. We do not control an outside site's content, availability, accuracy, security, or data practices. Review that operator's terms and privacy notice before using it.

No Warranties

The site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we make no warranty that information is complete, correct, or current; that access will be uninterrupted; that the site is free from defects or security weaknesses; or that a partner search will return a complete result.

Custody status and public records can change quickly. Nothing posted here is an official statement from the Hertford County Sheriff's Office, North Carolina DAC, a court, BOP, ICE, or another government body.

Liability Limits

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Hertford County Released Inmates and its owners, operators, and partners are not liable for direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or other damages arising from access to, inability to access, or reliance on the site or an outside service.

User Indemnification

A visitor agrees to defend and hold the site, its operators, and its partners harmless from claims, losses, liabilities, and reasonable legal fees that arise from the visitor's use, misuse, or violation of these terms.

Intellectual Property

Site text, graphics, logos, arrangement, and code belong to Hertford County Released Inmates or the applicable content partner. They may not be copied, republished, distributed, or modified without written permission, except where law independently allows limited use.

Changes to the Terms

We may revise these terms at any time. A new version becomes effective when posted. Continued use after posting means the visitor accepts the revised terms.

Access Restrictions

We may suspend, limit, or end access at any time, with or without notice, including when use threatens security, violates these terms, or disrupts service for others.

North Carolina Law

North Carolina law governs these terms without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute must be brought in a court with proper jurisdiction in North Carolina.

Terms Severability

If a court finds one part invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions stay in force. The affected part will be limited or adjusted only as much as needed to make it enforceable.
